I would consider myself a lover of all things outdoors, insects, spiders, butterflies, grasshoppers etc.
all...............................................................at a distance.
I usually try to act as if I love them more than I really do in order to be a good role model for my children. Though, deep down they make my skin crawl, they are gross looking, and literally I have this 20 foot bubble I like to be in, I don't bother them and they don't bother me.
Until that all came crashing down today.
Today was like any other day. I went outside barefoot, (if you know me I don't like to wear shoes unless I have to). I picked up our umbrella to clean it and out ran a baby lizard, it scared me, I screamed and lifted up my foot. Well timing would have it that when I put my foot down, I stepped on it.
Yes did you read that correctly, I stepped on the baby lizard and guts squeezed out everywhere!!!
I ran into the house screaming like a mad woman, probably waking up all our neighbors as it was 7:30 on a Saturday morning. Hopping on one leg, dry heaving, and waving my hands wildly, I jumped up onto the counter washed my feet, and let the water run for 5 min with my head down trying to regain my composure. Meanwhile, my kids are starring at me wondering if I am alright, hubby was laughing and went outside to check it out, and he was out there for a while doing this....
Yes, he outlined it in chalk , just in-case I forgot it DIED!!!!!
Then we showed Gregory and he reenacted it, just in case I forgot it DIED!!!
We all mourned......
AND MY HUBBY WAS OH SO KIND AS TO MAKE SURE I DIDN'T FORGET THAT I KILLED THE LIZARD.
Not to mention 10 min after this i picked up one of my pots and threw it when I realized I was starring at a grasshoper, I broke its wings.....................
I think I'm a bit traumatized too!
